OGE Operating Status
The Office of Global Education (OGE) is open and operating in a hybrid capacity. Our office remains committed to supporting the Georgetown community.
OGE Business Hours
OGE staff members are available during normal business hours, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and can be reached by email, phone, and scheduled appointments (virtual or in-person). Please be aware that not all appointment types (virtual or in-person) are offered every day. For Spring 2024, in-person appointments are only offered on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with advanced scheduling. On Mondays and Fridays, OGE operates virtually.
OGE Phone
The OGE phone line (202-687-3132) is monitored during normal business hours. We highly encourage you to leave a voicemail (if prompted) with your first and last name, phone number, email address, and a brief message describing your inquiry. Calls will be returned during normal business hours as soon as possible.
For emergencies involving the welfare of a student, please call Georgetown University Police/Department of Public Safety at +1-202-687-4343. When calling about an emergency, please be sure to provide your name and contact information along with the name and location of the student involved. If the situation requires immediate emergency response, please get in touch with your local emergency response contact in the student’s immediate location.
Drop-In Hours
Drop-in advising hours are not currently available. Students can schedule virtual meetings with advisors. Please see below for further information on setting up a virtual advising appointment with an Advisor.
Advising Appointment Request
To start learning about the study abroad process, sign up to attend a Study Abroad 101 session hosted by an OGE Peer Advisor. Students who have completed Study Abroad 101 and want to discuss studying abroad should visit the Make an Appointment page for information about scheduling an appointment or for the next steps on getting guidance on the program(s), they are considering.
Concerns Regarding COVID-19
Please ensure you are monitoring Georgetown University-related guidance to COVID-19. You can find information about the University’s response to COVID-19 at Georgetown’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) Resource Center .
Upon entering the Office of Global Education, you may use your mask or request one at the front desk. We also have hand sanitizer and restrooms available to wash your hands. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, tested positive for COVID-19, or had a direct contact test positive for COVID-19, please follow university guidelines. You may also switch your in-person appointment to a Zoom/virtual appointment by contacting your OGE Advisor.
