Register for Classes

Each semester undergraduate exchange students will receive instructions from the OGE Exchange Coordinator on how to register for classes. This includes procedures as well as a reminder on class restrictions. If a student wishes to take a class that has a prerequisite or is restricted based on class standing, please email the OGE Exchange Coordinator (oipexchange@georgetown.edu) with the name of the class and the prerequisite. OGE will then work with the Office of the University Registrar to override the restriction so students may register for the class(es) on the appointed day.  On the appointed day, students will register for their classes online via MyAccess.

Students wishing to take a class that is restricted to certain majors or schools may not register for that class on the initial registration date. Students may be able to register for these classes during the add/drop period at the beginning of the semester. This can be done at the beginning of the add/drop period each semester with permission from the instructor.

Students from a home institution with McDonough School of Business (MSB) exchange agreement will not be able to register for their business classes on the initial registration date.  These students will meet with an MSB dean during orientation to finalize their course schedule.

Further information can be found on the Office of the University Registrar’s website and information on classes can be found in “Exploring Academic Options”.
