Study Abroad Program Provider Scholarships
Program providers offer increasing numbers of scholarships to Georgetown students studying abroad on their programs. Students apply directly to the provider. Scholarships include:

Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarships
Rotary Scholarships aim to further international understanding and friendly relations among people of different countries. Recipients are expected to be outstanding ambassadors of goodwill through appearances before Rotary clubs, schools, civic organizations and other forums in the host country, and to share their experiences abroad with people in their home countries. Scholarship candidates must be citizens of a country in which there is a Rotary club, and may apply through a Rotary club in their legal or permanent residence (or place of full-time study or employment). Scholarships are available to individuals of all ages, provided the candidate has completed at least two years of university coursework or equivalent professional experience prior to beginning scholarship studies. Applicants for Academic-Year and Multi-Year Ambassadorial Scholarships must be proficient in the language of the proposed host country. Spouses or descendants of Rotarians may not apply.

The Fund for Education Abroad
The Fund for Education Abroad has several scholarships available including general scholarships, the Hiliary Echo Douglas Memorial Scholarship, the Rainbow Scholarship, and the DC Area Scholarship. Go Overseas Scholarships
The Go Overseas scholarships provide different funding opportunities for any student hoping to study abroad. Applicants should fill out the applications and submit a creative essay and photo.
Barry Goldwater Scholarship
The Barry Goldwater Scholarship is for sophomores and juniors interested in a career in natural science, math, or engineering. Eligible applicants will be US citizens, or US permanent residents.
Hostelling International “Explore the World” Scholarship
The “Explore the World” Scholarship application goes live in January. Eligibility requirements include: US citizen or PR; 18 – 30 years old; demonstrated financial need; demonstrated desire to experience new cultures; service or educational component included in the trip. Awardees are expected to contribute to HI social media (Instagram/Twitter) and participate in HI DC’s events and programs.
Alexia Grants for Student Photographers
The Alexia Foundation offers grants to students and professional photographers to give them the financial ability to produce substantial stories that drive change in the effort to make the world a better place.
SIT Study Abroad
SIT Study Abroad is committed to increasing access to international education and to ensuring you have the information you need to successfully access funding for your study abroad program with us. They offer a broad range of scholarships and grants, including the award-winning Pell Grant Match. Semester scholarship awards generally range from $500 to $5,000, and summer awards typically range from $500 to $3,000. It is possible that students receiving special SIT scholarships and who are using their Pell Grant for a summer program may receive a partial match award.
GRDI Scholarship
The Global Respectful Disruption Initiative provides scholarships ranging from $1,500 to $3,000 for students participating in intercultural study, travel, or professional programs both domestically and internationally. The aim of the initiative is to empower individuals passionate about social justice, community development, and fostering transformative change for a more just and equitable world. Applicants should be prepared to respond to a prompt detailing how their participation in an intercultural program will enable them to promote social justice and community development in innovative ways.
