A Day in the Life: Looking Back on Student Videos As We Look Ahead to Future Study Abroad Plans

At the Office of Global Education (OGE), one of our favorite parts about having students study abroad is the contributions they make to OGE’s Instagram stories. During past semesters and summers abroad, we have asked students to document their daily lives by “taking over” our social media channel. This way, other students can see firsthand the day to day experiences of their peers.
While we haven’t been able to host live Instagram takeovers during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have saved our students’ contributions on the OGE Youtube channel, and we have also included location based playlists in many of our program brochures. If you are interested in hearing the student perspective on programs and locations, or are just getting a start on planning for a future term abroad, our takeover videos are a great place to start.

This short video gives a comprehensive overview of your options when it comes to studying abroad at Georgetown. It also features various clips from student takeovers in previous years, where students are talking about their programs, their home life, and their extracurricular activities.
